Jonathan D. Mishkin, M.D., Interventional Radiology and Body Cross-Sectional Imaging Specialist

Dr. Mishkin grew up in the Philadelphia area. He received his B.A. degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and the M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. During his undergraduate years, Dr. Mishkin was active in biochemical genetics research at Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine, and at the University of Pennsylvania.

Following his internship at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, Jon completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then served a fellowship in angiography and interventional radiology at Penn, and took additional training in neuroradiology at Hospital de le Timone in Marseilles, France. Dr. Mishkin is certified by the American Board of Radiology, and holds its Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.

Jon relocated to the Albany area in 1987, and joined the medical imaging staff of St. Peter's Hospital in 1991. Dr. Mishkin was named Chief of Medical Imaging at St. Peter's Hospital in January, 2002. In 2010, Jon was honored as a Physician of the Year at St. Peter's Hospital, sharing this distinction with another member of our staff, Dr. Richard Rowley. He is a founding Member of Albany Advanced Imaging, and serves on its consulting staff.

Dr. Mishkin is a board member and former President of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The Registry is responsible for setting practice standards and certifying the competency of radiologic technologists nationwide. Jon was a member of the Radiologic Technology Advisory Board of the New York State Department of Health. He has also served as a consultant and committee member on numerous occasions for the American College of Radiology. Dr. Mishkin is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, Eastern Radiological Society, Medical Society of the County of Albany, and New York State Medical Society.

Jon lives with his family in Old Chatham, New York. He enjoys tennis and skiing.
