Robert J. Rapoport, MD, Neuroradiologist and Medical Director

As Medical Director, Dr. Rapoport strives to establish and maintain the highest possible standard of patient care.

Dr. Rapoport, a native of Middletown, New York, was selected for the accelerated undergraduate and medical school program at Union College, Schenectady, New York, and Albany Medical College. He is:

  • The President of the practice
  • Certified by the American Board of Radiology with an additional Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology
  • A Senior Member of The American Society of Neuroradiology

Dr. Rapoport completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a two-year fellowship in Neuroradiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has coauthored scientific papers, and has served as a consultant on open style magnet design for leading MRI manufacturers. He currently serves on the Credentials Committee of Capital District Physicians Health Plan.

Dr. Rapoport began his career as a staff neuroradiologist at Albany Medical Center, and was director of its residency program in Diagnostic Radiology. He joined the Department of Medical Imaging of St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, NY, in 1999.

Rob is President-Elect of the New York State Radiological Society. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and a member of the Radiological Society of North America and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

Dr. Rapoport lives with his family in Delmar, a suburb south of Albany, and is an avid tennis and squash player. He also enjoys scuba diving.
